2025 Idlewild Events

Once a vibrant haven for African American travelers during segregation, Idlewild earned its nickname "Black Eden" by hosting luminaries like W.E.B. Dubois, Aretha Franklin and Della Reese. Today, the town honors its storied past through cultural events, music festivals, and community gatherings that celebrate its enduring spirit.
