Rules, Policies and Terms

We do not have a guest receptionist on-site; therefore reservations can only be made between 9am-8pm by calling us at 231-745-7773 or by emailing mortonsmotel@idlewild-mi.org.

Walk In or Same Day Reservations are Not Available, a 48-hour Advance Booking is required.

The maximum number of guests is limited to (see room booking information) persons.​​

Term of the Stay. The reservation begins at 3 p.m. on Check-in Date and ends at 11 a.m. on Checkout Date.​​​

This motel requires a 2-nights minimum stay.​​

Guest agrees to abide by the Rental Rules (listed below) at all times while at the motel and shall cause all members of the rental party and anyone else the Guest permits on the property to abide by the following rules at all times while at the motel.​

Guest shall allow Property representative(s) access to the property for purposes of repair and inspection. Morton's Motel representative(s) shall exercise this right of access in a reasonable manner.

RENTAL RULES

Smoking is NOT allowed inside the motel room(s), hallways, kitchen or the great room areas. Use outdoor space for smoking. Do NOT discard cigarette butts on property. Use trash receptacles.​

People other than those in the Guest party may not stay overnight in the motel room. Any other person in/on the property is the sole responsibility of the Guest. Guests are not allowed to exceed the occupancy limit stated above.

Guest(s) should not create excessive noise at a level that disturbs neighbors; quiet hours are from 10:00p.m. – 9:00 a.m. *Please note that sound travels across the lake. Normal voice conversations may be heard across the water.

Propeprty Management is not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illness that occurs while on the premises or its facilities. The owners and the Morton's Motel staff are not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of the guest(s) and/or visitor(s). By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises or others whom they invite to use the premise.

Keep the property and all furnishings in good order. If the premises appear dirty or damaged upon Check-in, Guest shall inform Property representative immediately.

Only use appliances for their intended uses. Do not attempt to use any electrical appliances not provided by Morton's Motel as they may result in power outages. (i.e. hot plates, fryers or barbecue grills, popcorn maker etc.)

Pets are NOT allowed.

Morton Motel Parking in the grass lot to the right of the driveway is permitted. Parking is NOT permitted in the driveway or grass area in front of motel rooms.

There is no daily housekeeping service. Management will remove trash from rooms upon request. While linens are included in the rooms, daily maid service is not included in the rental rate. We do not permit linens or bathroom towels to be taken from the rooms. Please bring your own beach towels.

Any garbage must be stowed securely in the proper garbage receptacle located in each room.

The motel is on a well system. The mineral content in the water is high. Bottled water is recommended for consumption. DO NOT FLUSH anything other than toilet paper. No feminine products, diapers or prophylactics should be flushed at anytime.

The Properties are private facilities. We are not a campground or picnic area. Guests planning family/group event (picnics, reunions, etc.) may rent the facility & grounds by providing security deposit & rental fee with a signed rental agreement to reserve/use the event space(s). *Williams Island, Idlewild Lake's beach and Paradise Lake is open to the public.

Due to COVID-19 we reserve the right to modify this reservation based on the recommendations of the Center of Disease Control, Michigan Department of Health and Human Service or developing data related to COIVID-19’s possible threat to the health and well-being of our staff and/or the Idlewild community. Refund of rental fees & taxes will be processed within 10 business days of any cancellation due to COVID-19.
PAYMENT, CANCELLATION & FEES

Security Deposit Required: A deposit of the first night's stay is due at booking to secure reservation dates.
a. The deposit will be applied toward the total rental fees. Once the payment of the first night's stay has been processed you will receive a reservation confirmation email.
b. Payment in full of all fees shall be due at time of Check-in. -
6% Michigan sales tax will be applied to the total room cost.

In case of a large group reservation, a non-refundable $35 processing fee will apply.

Payment: Acceptable payment methods are by cash, or credit/debit card. Identification & credit card will be verified at check-in. Please note we do not pass along a credit/debit card payment convenience fee to our clients. However, due to our credit/debit card payment processing provider's updated policy we will have to charge a 2.9% refund payment service fee.

Cancellation Policy: If Guest wishes to cancel their reservation it must be received by phone 231.745.7773 or email: mortonsmotel@idlewild-mi.org

Storms or Inclement Weather: No refunds will be given for storms or inclement weather.

100% deposit refund if cancelled by 5 p.m. at least 15 days prior to the Check-in Date, No refund of the deposit for cancellations made 14 days or less.

Incidental Charges and Damages: Guest shall provide a valid credit/debit card (or $100 cash deposit to be refunded at check-out after room inspection) to which charges for incidentals and damages such as cigarette/marijuana smoke damage, outside of reasonable cleaning services, and/or any damages to the property will be charged (if cash - not refunded). Management shall provide Guest with an itemized statement of any charges at least 10 days prior to charging Guest’s credit card. Otherwise, the credit card information will be securely destroyed.

AGREEMENT & IDEMNIFICATION

Entire Agreement: This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement of the parties and supersedes all prior or contemporaneous oral or written agreements concerning this subject matter (including policies of previous owners).​

Guests agree to indemnify and hold the Morton's Motel, Guest House at Paradise Lake and their respective members, officers, directors, sub-contractors, employees and/or agents harmless from any liability for personal injury or property damage sustained by Guest(s) or parties invited onto the property by Guest.
